I know there's some fan's of them around here. I have this little booklet/brochure from them telling all about the history of the company, the knives, and product line. History of the crowned hand trade mark and stuff. It's a little 6 page thing they sent me when I was doing an article about them for Knife World Magazine back around 89 or 90. I want to pass it on and maybe one of you traditonal knife fans would like to read it, and pass it on.

Send me an E-mail if you want it. It's not great literature, just a interesting little read.

That would be cool. Maybe someone could scan it and either post it here or email it anyone interested. I'd certainly do that.

I hope someone does post it,I am interested in opinal knives, but only have one right now.

If jackknife doesn't have a scanner, I'd be more than happy to scan and post it.

I've seen a lot of talk about Opinels on the forum and just got a #6 and #8 garden knife for Christmas. I am looking forward to reading about their history.

jackknife sent the info to me via snail mail. I should have it in a day or two. I'll scan it and post or I'd be glad to email it to you if you'd rather print it out and read it.

I have three I think, this one has about a 5" blade. I carved the handle using a Dremel tool to give it some character.

I'm also a big Opinel fan.

Just noticed that they're making the #8 in a "slim" version; haven't seen it before.

So I bought one (of course) and eagerly await its arrival.

Love the blade shape on it as well as the slim handle.

Here is the scanned brochure jackknife sent me. If you would like to have it emailed to you in .pdf format, PM or email me your address and I'll get it to you. Thanks to jackknife for making this available.
