Anyone know anything about the grind on these?

Just picked up a #6 and a #8 in carbon for next to nothing, but they look pretty nice for the $$. I'm thinking of modding the handle on the #6 to make it a little slimmer.

I think they're convex grinds, but you can check for sure by holding a straight-edge against the blade.

how would a straight edge against the edge help determine the grind?
it would determine whether or not the profile is a convex shape...but it would not determine the grind.

based entirely on photos, it looks like a flat grind to me, but this could be wrong because i have not seen one in person.
 
They may have a slight convex grind to the blade, but all the ones I have seen have had a secondary bevel. They are great cutters, and don't cost much.
 
They have a slightly convex grind. it's not far from a full flat grind, but it curves down to the edge, which generally has a slight secondary bevel.

digispam, before you mod that handle, take a look at the Effile or the Drop Pointed Garden Knife for ideas on an alternate handle.
 
I modded a #10 during my spring break. I really love the result. And if you screw with it, you just lose 15$ :)

All you need is a few files and sandpaper.

I had looked at them, but I was trying to stay with the high carbon blade. I'll need to do a little reading on convex grinds as this would be my first.
