I have 5 Opinels, this is what it took to get the right one for me.
08 - a bit too big.
06 - a bit too small.
Then I hit on the 07, this is the right one. Not too big in the pocket, but large enough to cut most of what I want. The thin blade really cuts wood.
No, the Opinel is not the "do all" for me, but is quite a performer.
To make it "my" knife. Changed the blade profile to a drop point.
Grind a dip in the handle to "pinch" the blade out.
Put a piece of cork in the handle to keep blade from hitting the handle when parked.
Also, just noticed the little boss in the ring lock.
