So, Carl got me all interested in the idea of a small, peanut-y ope. I got a #5 and the plan was to reshape the handle, slim it down, and put in an easy open notch. My 4yo helped me though, and I let her design it, so it came out different. Better, of course. That EO notch would sure be handy though... ;)

My wife is Karen. Francine is 4. Luella is six mos. FKL. Basically, sanded it, thinned out the handle as much as Francine would let me. Let her paint it black with a sharpie. (I did the letters) I rubbed some mineral oil on. I don't know how it will weather, but the beauty of a sharpie is you can always paint it black again. :)

BTW, been carrying it a few days. I like it a LOT. So, so light. Cheers. ;)

Little girls have a way with all things, don't they Daddy? Enjoy the special things while you can.

Well, I can't keep this little guy out of my pocket. I'm sure surprised.

That looks great! Just purchased a #6, but came so close to getting a #5 b/c it doesn't have the lock ring. Now seeing yours I may just order a #5 also. Nice mods :)

Ah, small friction folder at it's finest!

And yes, our little daddy's girl always gets her way. When my daughter Jessica was small and I had a much larger knife rotation than I do these days, Jess always wanted to make sure I had my large Case sodbuster with me. To her, it was the "banana knife" that daddy carried. Even today, she still recalls the banana knife.

Carl.

Thanks! The #5 is about perfect size.

Carl, you should see when I try to give a knife away. It suddenly becomes 'her favorite'. Her real favorite is a Mercator. Go figure. And she LOVES helping me pick out a knife. Banana knife, that's funny.
