Opinel!! (No.2)

I may be wrong but it looks like their standard beechwood and carbon steel #2 with some age to it.

For comparison, here's a stock pic of the current brand new No. 2. Stamp looks the same, though on yours it looks like the lanyard ring might've been added to the handle (by the user), and the logo on the handle might've been sanded off. Ditto to the beechwood, which is standard (varnished, which gives it that 'orange' color) with patina on the 'carbone' blade. Probably a fairly recent knife.

what year opinel has the logo like the one in the pic above?

I couldn't get a close enough picture, but there is still lots of little specs of black paint. It appears to be the same type of logo, or another logo similar in size.

That pic above is the most current year stamping for the No. 2 (larger knives have a different looking stamp on the blade). I don't know how far back that stamp has been used on that knife, though. The logo on the handle is also the most current; if yours matches that, then I'd say you've got a pretty recent version. Might be a good question to ask Opinel.

Opinels don't change all that much, but there have been a few different stamps. You might compare yours to the ones in this museum. Click each stamp picture to get the year.
Thanks to Jake, Supratentorial. He found and posted the web site in answer to a quite similar question last month.
