Opinel or Mora for kitchen duty?

Anyone have a favorite? I'm especially interested in a paring knife and utility knife.

Which brand and model do you like for each?

I use a number of Mora models as paring knives. They work fine, and I can keep them hidden from my family, who are all very rough on kitchen knives. I still have to sharpen just about every knife in the block every week, but my Moras stay nice and sharp. And hidden.

I have a few stainless Mora knives in the kitchen but nothing beats my Opinel #9 carbon for slicing and paring duties:)

I just got an Opinel #8 for the kitchen but am having a hard time convincing my wife it is fit for paring tasks. I guess she sees it as more of a woodshop knife.

Opinel is probably better because of the full flat grind (excuse me, I mean, very subtle convex grind). If you get a Mora, get one of the thinner ones.

Yup. Opinel all the way. It'll dance circles around even the thinnest Moras when it comes to kitchen work. It's all in the grind.
