I just spent the week in Paris and found a traditional French peanut. :)

There was a small cigar shop that carried a few Opinel knives and this little ss No.4 jumped out at me. A very cool slip case came with it. 13 euro...which with the exchange was about $20. Everything there is expensive!

I assume it's a friction folder ?
Is that correct?
I don't see a typical Opinel locking ring.

I like the pouch, too! :)

Yes, non-locking stainless blade. The little slip case is beautifully done. The blade is "paring knife" thin and cuts very well.

None of the very small Opinels have the locking ring.

That's an awesome find, I'd love to pick up something like that.

Thanks for the kind words. It was a real surprise to be walking the streets of Paris and just happen to see a window display out of the corner of my eye. There were a few dozen larger models but this was the only small one...and with a slip case!

I love Opinels, I carry one on my keychain everyday (a #2) good score! I gotta find me one of those slipcases.
