Hi guys, I haven't played with an opinion in probably 35 years
I can't find any locally but a store close by sells coghlan's camp knives (not sure if I can post link)
Does anyone know if these are rebranded opinels or copies

Thanks

I have a couple with the Coghlan's mark on the handle. I assume you are looking at the one with the taper toward the end of the handle (as opposed to flare)? Most definitely an Opinel, and I couldn't be happier with mine - so happy that after picking up the first one I had to go back for another!

Edit to add: The funny thing is, I find myself looking in the camping section of every store I've gone to since then, and have never seen them anywhere except for in Port Angeles...may be a time for a trip out that way.

I bought two a while ago. One for my 8 year old (though at the time I think he was 7) and one for me. It has a constant place in my pocket no matter what else I am carrying. The one I bought was a #7 in carbone with a regular sized blade, and a slimmer handle.

Best $12 I ever spent on anything!

It is one of the Coghlan's.

Gotta love an Opinel.
I love mine, but never liked carrying it in pocket due to the round, sort of bulky profile it has in the pants. Great in hand, not so great in pocket.
However, I recently got some pocket sheaths made by Al Dodge (username: Pocketknifesheaths) here on bladeforums, and now it's just a dream to carry in pocket!

I sound like an advert, but I gotta share! Made the Opinel 'EDCable' for me.
