Been thinking I should add an Opinel or two to the collection and saw the 10 piece boxed set offered for around $95. Looks like quite a bit of variety as far as sizes goes. Sound like a good deal or would I be better off getting just a couple of different sizes?

TIA

If this is the set it looks like you get 10 different knives in the set. Guess it depends on how much you like the knvies and if you want a looking set so you can use your others.

If you're looking at using them all it might be better to fill out your set with what you need/will use most often.

Might be nice to have a feeler set though. You could let others see what different sizes feel like etc so they could make a good decision on what they wanted. (Can I borrow it?)

Different place but yes, that's the set. I've seen a few including two on ebay that have red lining. Not sure if that's indicative of an older production set or newer? For less than $10 a knife it seems like a pretty good deal.

This is an older model... Many sellers on eBay use old photos so you may receive a new black "Logo" model. Opinel changes logo fairly often so a red logo does not indicate a very old knife.

Thanks for the info though I was actually talking about the color of the liner in the box. On Ebay the boxed sets listed have a red liner. The one in the link WA Martin posted and the site I'm browsing have the more chocolate brown liner.

Sorry about that! The newest sets of 10 have a dark brown / chocolate liner. I have not seen the red liners in ages.... again they may be using old photos.

I like the 10 set. I wanted to try a few different sizes. It was more economical for me. Mine has red linning.
They are great to use.

Thanks to all. I'll be able to look the set over in person tomorrow see what I think. Can't imagine that some of them are much different other than a incremental differences in blade and handle length but as mitch13 posted, it's an economical way to get them. At $9.50 a knife (average price) I'd be saving about 25% on some of them which I've seen at $12-$15ea.
