saw this on a sale site, seller says it is a "Buck 400." I am skeptical. so, is this genuine Buck?

and no, I didn't buy it...….

Thanks

Not sure. Im not real familar with some of the Chinese versions that typically sell in tins.

I never heard of a "Buck 400", if that means anything.

The handle looks "off" to me.
Also, I'm pretty sure Buck puts the tang stamp with model number and date code on the mark side of the blade tang.
From what I can see, that knife lacks a tang stamp.

Please remember that I am far from being an "expert" on anything Buck. (or any other brand, come to that.)

I do not know about this particular knife.

Buck did make “400” but as far as I know it was a fixed blade. I have one that was re-handled by Leroy Remer.

Thanks for the input guys, it just didn't look right to me either. I think it's counterfeit

ok, I stand corrected. Now I see that the tang stamp is on there and it is a legit Buck. Thanks for the info everyone. Guess I should have gone to the big auction site and checked, nothing came up when I did a google search.
