Recommendation? OPINION ON BUYING KNIFE SHIPPED FROM THE UK?

Hello BF!,

I was making a buy but it turns out that the BF Member, who has great BF trading stats BTW, lives in the UK. I guess that I am a little concerned as I didn't realize that before I expressed interest in the knife. What is is the opinion on PayPal G&S for an overseas purchase? It would be one of the most expensive knives that I have ever bought. What's the story? Anyone with a similar experience and opinion?
 
Hi J F . I have posted many knives to the US from the UK . I have bought knives forum US BF dealers and from BF members . I had a sheath custom made for a Bowie that I sent to the US and was returned with the new sheath . All this was payed for through PayPal and have never had a problem . So in my opinion you should be fine .:)

I've bought several knives from a retailer in the UK and have never had an issue. As long as the shipping timeframe isn't a problem I wouldn't worry about it.
 
A little trickier than a US only, but I wouldn't worry much. Unless otherwise agreed on, he should be responsible for delivery of the knife.
 
The only painful part is checking the tracking every few hours and seeing it's still miles and miles away.
 
Frankly, given that you've purchased via G&S I wouldn't worry in the slightest.

As far as the country of origin is concerned, I have purchased and sold many knives to/from the UK. Again, I wouldn't worry.
