Does anyone have an opinion on the Buck dual blade 110 / 112 knife? Made in 2005 to mark the transition to
Idaho, I believe.
I want to buy a knife for someone who wants a Buck 112 and was wondering if the dual blade would be a good
idea or just the regular 112?
Any thoughts on FG or not?
This guy goes hunting with his Dad but probably wants the 112 as an EDC, if that is helpful.

Thanks!

By the way, isn't 2005 when Buck knives were made in China? This says USA on the blade which I assume
means it was made here. Right?

I suspect most folks who want a 112 prefer it to a 110 because of the smaller size and weight (as is the case with me, for example). So i'd get him the 112. Great knife. And a generous gift on your part!

BTW, at no time did Buck make all their knives in China, only some. And the 110 and 112 and other classics have always been made in the States.

Considering that the only difference between the two blades is a slight amount of length, I don't really see why Buck felt the need to put them both in one knife. Perhaps if they paired a regular blade with a fully serrated blade that might be useful for hunters, etc. But two almost identical blades just makes the knife unnecessarily thick and heavy with no added benefit.

I'd say, if the person wants a 112, then get them a 112.

It was more of a gimmick for collectors I suspect, can't imagine wanting to carry all that weight and bulk for two blades that are basically the same but fora little length.

If he doesn't hunt anything larger than whitetail deer, the 112 is plenty of knife to field dress one. Bigger animals I might prefer a 110.

Thanks to all of you who answered back. That was very helpful! Besides, it went for$122.00, more than I want tospend.
Really appreciate the feedback!
