Just arrived this morning.
All i can say is its perfect.I heard the stories going around about these having a bad finish and not as sharp which had me worried but mine came with perfect fit and finish.Infact better than my other Barkie came.
I cant wait to test this out against some other blades to see what this steel can do.
I always oil my knives unless stainless but do i have to worry about oiling the exposed metal on the handle?.Is 3V very prone to rust?.
Bark river knives are already kinda slick so i dont really want to oil it.
Also this is a really nice knife i hate leather sheaths but this ones OK still gonna try get a kydex one made though.

Just got my Lil Canadian a couple days ago as well, so no opinion on it yet other than to mirror your observations: nice little knife that's lives up to Bark River quality for fit and finish.

This is my first CPM3V knife so I know nothing about the steel from a hands on perspective. The specs however report that it should have good corrosion resistance for a non-stainless tool steel.

Might not hurt to oil it a bit from time to time to play it safe, but sounds like it should hold up well against corrosion/rust.

I love mine. I have used it only a little, but has held a great edge. It is a very good size for most outdoor needs.

I've been using a Koster in CPM-3V for a while now. I've given it no special treatment and have not had any rust or corrosion issues. I really like this steel on a fixed blade. It is really tough with no chipping and is relatively easy to sharpen. This was on a scandi grind. I'm sure with the Bark River convex grind the knife and edge will be darn near indestructible with normal use.
