Commander or horseman? I only say the full size commander because I had the mini as while I did like the ergos it seemed a little short as in the handle length, seems like the horseman handle is longer? Any comments as I can't handle these knives which would be awesome..
Oh and do you think the commander is to big for an edc?
Thanks!

Horseman is an awesome edc! Over the years I have purchased the full sized commander 3 times thinking I would carry it and 3 times I have sold it. Horseman has plenty of handle to hold on to for medium-large hands.

That's a Horseman and mini Commander 3rd and 4th down.

To me, they felt very similar. The difference is the Horseman is a just a hair thinner and a hair longer. Not much longer though so you may want to consider a full sized 8.

Thanks for the pic! Your right, but I think that'd b a good size because my problem was In a grip where I put my thumb on the back of the blade it was to scrunched, I may have to try that horseman..
Anyone have a pic of a regular commander and a horseman?

You are trying to justify the longer handle for EDC. Maybe you need to find a piece of scrap wood, and whittle it down to the size of the knife you are considering carrying in you pocket.

Then decide if the size is comfortable in the pocket. Weight is not a factor IMHO, if an ounce or two is too heavy. Diet, and loose a pound. That will make up for the heavier knife.

I use to do a lot of bicycle riding Century's, and Double Century Rides. Alway cracked my up the guy, with all this money blow on titanium part to reduce weight on their bicycles. When a diet could shed a pound or two with little effor

the regular size commander is almost as perfect as it comes ;-)

I recommend the super commander. I don't have huge hands, but I think the handle of the super commander is perfect for me. I had a full size CQC-8, the Horseman's big brother, and the Commanders grip is far more comfortable.

I agree 100%

Yeah your gonna be hard pressed to find many emersonaholics who will tell you to not get a full size Commander. I have owned both and the Horseman was sold faster than I could blink but the Commander is still kicking it in the EDC rotation. The horseman was just too thin for me.

Fullsize Commander for me. The Horseman was my first Emerson. As ergonomic as it is, there just wasn't enough usable handle there for my hands (size XL in glove). Later I bought the CQC8 and that seemed to solve the problem for a while. Just couldn't get it in the style that I wanted, and ended up selling that too (always buy the model you want, don't settle).
Then I bought the Commander in BT. I love it, carry it almost everyday. Its one of those models that I want to get a 2nd of because I like it so much. May even consider a Super because I think I could manage it.

My advice is to hold both models and see which one you CAN'T put down. Who knows? You may end up getting both. Best of luck.
