I've had my elite in S35-VN for over a year now and I love it. Its held an edge exceptionally well for me while doing basic EDC tasks. The stonewash finish Microtech does cleans up nicely and hides scratches. I own a Whaleshark in S35-VN as well and its performed equally well. I'd highly recommend it if you are interested in going that route. I might even be willing to trade you for my elite if you are interested as I use other knives more often lately.
My Socom Delta is one of my favorites, razor sharp and one of the few production knives in S35Vn that I've found to be worth a damn. MT seems to have a better edge/better ht (?) than other knives in the same steel.
I've got a clip point blade Socom Elite and love it, Microtech seems to know how to work with s35vn. Edge holding seems quite similar to s30v, but I find it a bit easier to touch up and get a nicely polished edge with less effort.
Serrations are nice if you do a lot of aggressive cutting, otherwise it's a waste of edge space. It's always easier to resell plain edge than serration
I really like my MT Socom Elite with a 4" clip point partially-serrated blade of S35VN. Sharp blade with great edge retention. Due to the length of the blade I prefer the partial serration. It's a light big knife at 4.5 ounces. I got exactly what I wanted with CF inserts and stonewashed blade. My only issue with MT is their stupid use of proprietary screws. Doesn't stop me from carrying the Elite or my Mini Matrix. Great stuff!
