I am looking to purchase an Emerson Knife. I really want a CQC-6 but in the meantime I am looking at buying a CQC-7A-SF. I love the balance of this knife, simple and useful. Any opinions, go...

I don't have a 7A yet, but if you want one, I wouldn't delay, as Emerson has sold out of them.

I like the 7b, but I already have a Emerson/Benchmade Spec War CQC7, which I really like and use/abuse daily. I really like the spearhead tip on the CQC-7A

Maybe its just me but that blade shape looks waaay to boring for me.

I don't know, SS. I see it as more purpose driven myself.

I agree it is a great blade shape and edge shape for ecd tasks. But, if I wanted a regular blade shap there are other brands id choose. Dont get me wrong, I love emersons but mostly for the unusual blade designs.

lol! I just hope yer happy with your Emersons, Al! ;)

Happy as a 4 legged man at an arse kicking contest!

Seriously, Rolf, I am very pleased with all facets of EKI and I have still maintained my 'Emerson only' buying policy. (Although that Spyderco Calypso is hard to ignore.) ;)

Great to hear this, Al.
btw, I will always have my Para Military. If you HAVE to, get that Calypso. I understand.

I had a great conversation with the folks at Emerson, alas the CQC-7A-SF is unavailable until April-ish. Looks like I will have to wait to upgrade from my Emerson/Benchmark Spec War CQC7. Still looking for a CQC-6, a guy can dream!
