How would you rate the benchmade 275 adamas vs the DPX hest 2.0

I own the 275 adamas but I was eyeing the hest until I saw a review that pointed out a lot of things wrong with the hest saying that it was mostly a gimmick knife

The Adamas is stronger, smoother and costs less.

Reviews of the HEST are mixed, some folks got good ones, some got ones with minor problems, and a good number got knives with major problems.

Personally I find it gimicky and the behavior of Pelton on the forums was despicable to say the least.

While rather plain in appearance the Adamas is a real performer in the field, and Benchmade did a great job on the D2.

my experience with the 275 is excellent and it's myEDC. I was just looking at the hest to expand my collection and have a unusual knife

ADAMAS. I got one when they first came out and am in love with it. they only negative thing i can say is that the pocket clip snapped in half due to imperfections in the metal. i had a new one at my door in 48 hours. i was on the fence with the best, but i have heard too many negative things about it to warrant spending that kinda cash on it.

I have owned both.

hest 2.0- is a strong knife, but at the end of the day the pocket clip is terrible. and the ti lock sticks and the pivot loosens so bad. i used to need to bring the tool with me to tighten the pivot to prevent blade play.

adamas- is crazy smooth, opens and closes so quickly. has a .187 inch thick blade and the best has a .192, so you get the same blade thickness for all intensive purposes and both are d2. the adamas is stronger and less money. better pocket clip and comes in 2 nice colors. oh and money is donated to the armed forces with each purchase. so i think its an obvious decision

The Adamas is stronger (thicker blade, stronger handle, stronger lock) and costs less.

The down side of the Adamas is that it will be heavier... also it doesn't have a bottle opener...

I gotta be honest, I have a HEST and love it. The F&F is great and the customer service thus far has been absolutely fantastic. I have the T3 triple black edition. The ergos are great and the blade is really stout without being ridiculously long. My only beef with it is the lock can be a bit sticky especially in the beginning. The price for the T3 is a bit steep but I dont regret paying it at all with the PVD coating on the entire knife and the Mr DP tool is really nice as well. The first edition had issues but they have been resolved in the second generation of HEST's.

All in all, i really like mine.

I love my adamas I was just looking to beef out the collection

this is a nice pic I took of my knife that I posted on BMs Facebook wall, it got a "like" from the company

The benchmade looks sweet. I have had other benchmades in the past and they were great knives, especially their higher end versions...............The HEST looks cool and I have wanted one for some time, but there have been alot of issues with them, especially in the beginning. The 2.0 version was supposed to correct all of this, but not sure if it has or not as I have not read up on the 2.0 as much.

I never bought a hest. I'm not going to waste my money on the off chance I get a " good one "

so I just invested in having my 275 given the keyman treatment
