It looks like the Schrade, but has removable "cartridges" for the tools.

"MADE IN CHINA"

Need we say more?

Buy a Leatherman, SOG, Gerber, or one of the other top brands. Money well spent.

MNU, why the glum face at your Gerber? I have one and it's the best tool I've ever had. The pliers are way more comfortable than a Leatherman, and the replaceable saw blades are great. For overall utility, I think it would be hard to beat a Gerber.

I agree!
I have the Gerber Pro-Scout and I really like it alot.

I would pass on the Coleman however.

Good luck,
Allen.

Good ,fair, advice here my friend. I looked at a colman at target
once and put the thing back on the shelf. Do your self a favor
buy a Leatherman, Sog, or a Gerber (your choice) and move on.
Don't buy a Colman or a Swisstool unless you need ballast on one
hip to walk straight. Neither is any good for real work.

V,
The reason I don't like my gerber is their choice of steel, It's too soft. The blade will not hold an edge and the wire cutters were ruined because they are softer steel. If they used a better steel I would love mine.

I bought the Coleman at Wal-Mart on clearance for 7 bucks, and I still feel like I got screwed!!!

It is a complete piece of S**T.!!!!!!!

I have owned 2 gerbers,(lost one, traded the other) recently I got a chance to buy a new SOG for a real nice price and I wholeheartedly recommend them above all others.

MNU, my Gerber is fairly recent, so I wonder if they changed the heat treat? I used my wire cutters on some pretty heavy gauge fence wire, and didn't see any signs of damage. As for the knife, I really haven't used it enough to test the edge holding, since I use other knives for most of my cutting chores. But I really like the knife compared to the one on my original Leatherman PST. Steel was WAY too soft on the Leatherman, and I never could get a decent edge on it. The Gerber, on the other hand, took a really nice edge in fairly short order, and is holding it well. Like I said, I haven't used it much, but with the Leatherman knife, the edge would just oxidize away, even without use. Plus, with the Gerebr, you can pretty much get JUST the right combo of tools, whereas most od the other multi-tools I've seen have just one basic "load" of tools that you can't change.

I too must advise you to pass on the Coleman. I bought both a multitool and SAK knockoff from them last year with no good results. I think about all the're good for is heavy sinkers for shark fishing or some equally destructive purpose. Otherwise the're less than useless. I haven't owned a Gerber, but several of my friends have been kind enough to let me play with theirs. Compared to my leatherman I think they are the better tool. The fact that everything locks in place is nice. A little more costly but definately a great tool.
Lagarto.
