I`m planning on making some small neck / pocket fixed blades. Size will be 5" overall, 3/4" tall, 1/8" thick, with 1/4" micarta handle slabs (about 9/16" total handle thickness). Price point will be around $115 shipped with kydex sheath. I`m thinking these might sell on the other forum, they seem popular there. Thoughts? Opinions?

This is my favorite type of knife, and the one that I will actually carry most of the time. I think that this type of pattern (photo below) would be popular if you can hit your price point.

What's the "other forum"?

How about a cord wrap instead of slabs to maybe cut some labor and cost?

The only small blades I regularly carry are my JKs, with the exception of an Izula that lives in my backpack.

I purchased a membership to sell on USN.

great idea, John. small fixed blades are my knives of choice. I carry my huron edc all the time.

Everybody uses small thin knives. We all need to cut everyday items and scalpel-like blades that are comfortable to carry are the ones we tend to use.

Great idea. This size is what i prefer to carry daily. I think they would be a good seller that may move faster for you.

I like the idea of offering a "base model" with no wrap or slabs on the handle at a lower price with options that increase the price. I am fortunate to own knives from several makers here on BF but there is only one model that I own several of and it is a similar size knife.

There's another maker on here that does a similar blade he calls a back pocket with a rectangular shaped sheath, this one seems like it would be ideal to do something similar with. I'll take one if you do. Brad.

Can't hurt to give it a try.

best

My 2 favorite knives are my JK proud supporter, and a BK14. I agree with fishiker about the base model option (like how a BK14 comes).
