I'm new to knives and interested in a good fixed knife. Something for around $100-$130. Whats your recommendations?

bark river
busse
rat cutlery
ranger knives

Personally, Im diggin bark river.
Think this is a good choice?

I've been collecting Helle scandi knives over the past year.

RAT Cutlery is my recommendation. The RC-4 is really nice.
You could buy some of Condor's knives (they have several Bushcraft models) and still have enough money left over for an axe and machete.

condors, you could get the bushlore, golok or machete , and a axe for a little over 100.00

Id go for bark rivr or rat of your list. Busse is out of your price range. Id also consider the custom makers on this forum

ohhh I like the blind horse knives
look like bark river but cost less

what kind of steel do they use?

any are decent choices, consider the ka-bar becker line also. busses are fantastic but you are getting in above 250 to 300$ at the least.

Funny to mention Helle -I would stick to those!:D

The other knives are all great too. I have a couple RATS -they are really tough. I still favor scandi knives most of the time though:thumbup:.

haha I was actually just looking at the Helle's on ragweed right now. I think I am going to stick to those. I have stuff like the Kabar Beckers, a Rat C. Izula, etc. I love them and also want to get at least one Bark River and some of the others listed. But I think I will stick to Helle for my collection.
