What's your opinion of the Case 5 1/4" folding hunter for a camp/hunting knife as opposed to a lock back like the Buck 110?

They're both great knives. Although the Case hunter I have is about 30 years old, so I don't know if their quality has changed, but all of my new Case knives have been very nice so far. The lock is nice to have on the 110 but the slipjoint will do just as well. Both brands make good knives and have equally good guarantees on them.

AFAIK the Case is only currently produced in Tru-Sharp Stainless The Buck 420HC holds an edge better than Case Tru-Sharp.

The Case is likely a bit nicer finished.

The Case is nice, but I'd take the Buck.
(IF the Case had CV blades I'd take the Case.)
