hey pple......
I just placed an order for a Mission MPF Ti, does anyone here have any information abt this paritcular knife which he/she can post on the forums?
I am particularly interested in the following aspects:
(1): does the blade/handle get scratched easily?
(2): how hefty is it as compared to a Microtech SOCOM?
(3): is the overall fit and finish of the knife good?

the following image was taken off http://www.tripleaughtdesign.com/mpf.htm

I purchased one used a while back. I will try to answer your questions:

1) the blade did scratch easy, but it was not a big deal.
2) I have had both and would say that they were close in heft, but perhaps the MPF was slightly lighter. (Its alot lighter than a LCC!)
3) Fit and finish was good.

My only problem with the knife, and it was probably my own fault, was once the edge got dull it was very difficult to get sharp again. I had the titanium sharpener, but I believe the prior owner let it get too dull and I could never get it hair cutting sharp again.

Hope that helps!

I had a MPF for a shorttime and like it a lot. The blade and handle did scratch. I did not notice if it scratched easier than a steel blade. Ti scratching is not a big deal since it does not rust.

Overall fit and finish was acceptable. It was comfortable and extremely secure in my hands. However, a few people who I loaned it too felt that it had too many sharp corners. I have this problem.

I had no problem keeping the knife as sharp as any knife I own including custom knives fresh from the maker. It does not hold an edge as well as most steel knives but responds well to a steel and is extremely easy to sharpen.

Do a search in there was a great review by Cobalt done a couple of years back.
