Anyone care to share an opinion of the Strider MFS?

Also, anyone have one they want to sell?

Mike,

LOVE IT!!!

It's my EDC. Take off the Tek-Lok and it just disappears into the pocket of a pair of Dockers.

I've used it for everything from opening packages/envelopes to carving triggers for deadfall traps. This knife just keeps going and going...

Get one. Don't hesitate. Get one NOW. They're THAT good. :)

They are available through Triple Aught Design (outstanding sevice).

It is a great knife, my EDC in fact. I cannot recommend it highly enough. You get a Strider knife, Bos h/t, great kydex, and the absolute best warranty around for $175. You will not be disappointed with this knife. The ATS-34 that Strider uses is amazing. It stays sharper longer than most steals that are considered "superior", and is very tough. It is really a great knife.

By the way, mine is definatly not for sale :D .

what do you guys think of the cord wrap handle? And how long does that cord wrap stay in good condition?

The cord wrap provides a really good grip and keeps the profile slim. I think that this is a good feature on a thick knife. When the cord wrap is worn out Strider will replace it free.

Is the MFS as tough as all of the other Strider knives are reputed to be? I know Strider will replace it if I manage to really damage it, but is it really tough?

Can it be worn as a neck knife, realistically?

Can the sheath be used IWB, or is there a sheath available for this mode of carry?

Thanks everyone for the great replies.

Yes, it is very tough. Truthfully, you will never break it. Since the other Strider fixed blades are made from .25 inch stock, the MFS is not going to be as strong as these. However, that doesn't mean the knife is wimpy...far from it actually. It is very stout. Listen, Strider will not let a wimpy knife out of their shop. They have the reputation they have for a reason. All of their knives perform well and won't fail, including the MFS. Hell, the MFS is thicker than most other knives of its size anyway. Bottom line, use it, beat the hell out of it, it won't care.

Neck knife? Not for me, too heavy. Plus, I am not a big fan of neck knives anymore.

No, sheath cannot be used IWB. It uses a Tek-Loc. However, I am sure that one of the custom sheath makers on this site can help you with that.
