opinions on a knife

I think it looks like a good practical design.
And while I don't own one it's my understanding that Blind Horse makes good knives.

+40 bucks for kydex over leather though? That seems a bit excessive. o_O

aye kydex should be cheap, it's just a matter of folding and molding... Solid design though, I probably won't get one just because I have one made by Cristof at Koyote, almost identical blade and edge.

We have the bushcrafter and bushbaby as well as both sizes of tiger knapps. I carry the bushcrafter and the small tiger knapp together in the woods often and they are nice knives for the money. I especially like the small tiger knapp, i have used it to carve spoons while using the but end to scrape out charcoal left over from burning in the bowl.

I must say i really like the looks of the one in the video.

The design seems solid, but there is a lot of competition at that price point. Fallkniven F-1 or S-1, RAT RC-4 (which if I'm not mistaken comes with a kydex sheath included at no extra charge), and of course a whole myriad of 'scandi' grinds for that price or lower available from Ragweedforge.

If we take the price of the knife plus the upgraded kydex sheath, then at that point the price is going to be comparable to something like the Bark River knives or even some custom knives.

So as far as price there is a lot of competition in that range, and to beat those names out in performance is going to be really tough. It is going to need either top of class performance, or a killer marketing campaign to really survive at that (crowded) price point, imo.

I've got the small tiger knapp and I have no complaints, blind horse is a good brand.....A while back "SpookyPistolero" here on the forum received a bushcrafter knife from them, it looked great....

I subscribe to his page on you tube, and he seems to know his stuff. BHK has a good reputation for knife excellence, so if he likes it and he helped design it then.

Here are the reasons that I, personally, am not likely to buy it:
-Blade is rather wide
-not very pointy
-handle is shaped in such a way that would bunch up my fingers

That is just my take on it. However, it apears to be a well thought out design that I am sure BHK will execute well.

I like the design - looks great and scandi to boot. There is certainly going to be competition. I think Brian Andrews makes a nicer scandi, but his is also a bit higher in price. Overall looks like a great piece to me, good price point and pretty unique niche. All that and offered by BHK which is a solid company.

Here's to more choice!
