Local Gander Mt. has one on clearance for $99. Looks to be a good price, so I thought I might snatch one up.

Actually, I am not sure which one it is. 941 I think. What is the story with the handle colors? Every where I look it says they are green or black, but the one in the store is grey.

What is everyones experience with this knife. From what I have seen, people seem to like it.

Any drawbacks?

As an aside they also inexplicably had a BM3100 auto there. Has to be a mistake seeing as how autos are illegal in WI, unless there is some type of loophole concerning the 3100 that I am not aware of. Price was $99 for that one too.

I am not sure the deal with the gray, some one else might. I own that and a 942 I personally like the 942 with the sheepsfoot better but its all preference. I like the handle ergonomics and if its axis lock is as smooth as mine than you'll like the smoothness of it. My 941 is black and I do like it, its the non serrated model. I would suggest playin with it again set it back walk around and if it keeps poppin into your mind buy it. 99 is a good price I usually see em over 100.

<pats the 941 clipped in his pocket>
I love the BM 941. in my opinion its the perfect size for EDC. It's nice and pointy, Smooth as butter axis lock, Unobtrusive clip carry, great handle!

Nothing but good words from my experience. Mine has a black handle and plain satin blade. I've had it for 4 years and it still looks brand new even after having been sharpened and used extensively.

If its the gray one for 99.00 buy it fast!! I think the 941gray is a limited ed. when they first came out they sold for 189.00 to 200.00 on ebay.

941 has a green handle and is discontiued.

943 has a black handle and is still in production.

941 BC1G has a twotone grey handle and a BC-1 coated blade and came in a limited edition of 200 knives.

There are some color-differences in every series, that is an anodizing thing.
You can find this on flashlights, for example Surefire, too.
Some are darker, some are lighter.

I think you have a light black 943. ;)

[edit]Isn´t the model-number of the knife shown beneath the butterfly on the blade?[/edit]

Actually, I was mistaken.

I am not that familiar with all the BM folders, and the knife was not in fact a 941, but rather the smaller and slightly different 771.

Still not a terrible deal, but not what I had thought.

Sorry for the confusion.

And thanks anyway.
