Hey guys, I usually don't hang around these parts.
I got a 25% off coupon from Buck a weekago and wanted to use it to surprise my kids. As many of the things on Buck's website was not available, I decided to order the Revel in 3 colors (yellow for me, blue for my son and the grey for the other son). I haven't had experience with Chinese Bucks, so could you give me a general idea of what to expect? Thanks!

There haven't been any complaints with the off shore produced knives. Some have expressed that they won't buy them just because, but the ones that have purchased them have had only good things to say. I have bought a few and really like them...

I don't have one of the Revels but I have a couple of Redpoints which are similar and are made of the same materials. They are fairly nice entry level knives and as Matt said, has the same lifetime warranty as any other Buck. Just don't be expecting a premium knife, they are far from that.

I have one. A good folder. The button is a little small for my large economy-sized hands (I wear XL gloves). But the button should be just right for regular-small fingers to work.

I have a Made in China buck 371 that is a beautiful looking little knife with near perfect fit and finish. In fact, it is my current EDC of choice among my collection. It came sharp enough to shave arm hair and push cut paper. But, me being me, I slightly re-profiled it to a more acute angle on all blades and have it where it is really sharp now. It seems to hold the edge very well with the small tasks I ask of it on a daily basis. I have had it for a little over a month and it will still push cut phone book paper since the initial re-sharpen job. China, Banglidesh, south side of Chicago, wherever, it makes no difference to me as long as the knife is a quality knife and lives up to my expectations. Obviously Buck has good quality control over their overseas knife production, as this knife is as good as what I have received from what Buck produces in the U.S. My hat is off to them for that.

Blessings,

Omar
