So the other night I called the number on blind horse knives and was a little star struck when I found out I was talking to L.t. ( really nice guy ) Like if Mister Rogers made awesome knives I was telling everyone in my family how awesome he was

Anyway I am going to have him put red liners in that's important because green and red makes me think on Christmas and thinking of Christmas makes me happy

But other mods I am thinking of are jimping and maybe making the blade a 16th to an 8th thicker and then thining the scales to compensate for the thicker blade

Maybe gonna call it the bush boss

Sounds like some great mods...I like the red liners and jimping. I'm not a big fan of a thick bushcraft knife.

Are you getting a convex edge or scandi grind?

L.T. is a great guy!

For me the jimping isn't really necessary but others really like it.

The steel they are using now is a little over 1/8" .... I wouldn't go over 3/16" myself.

The blade is only 4" long so the size of the stuff you can baton is limited.

As they are, they cut and slice pretty good and are still plenty tough.

If you get it to thick it might loose some of the attributes that it excels at already.

I think the red liners will look great with the green canvas. ;)

oh ... btw ... What grind?!?! :D

Ok and I am going with convex for ease of sharpening i won't get it thicker because I do want easy slicing as I intend to use this a lot for wood carving, I am so excited I forgot the blade thickness

Glad you liked the spacers I was expecting alot of people to say it would be ugly

This is going to be a though few months

Green Micarta with Red liners is the stuff !

That was the favorite combo of the late Bob Loveless.

The JRE sheath that the Bushcrafters comes with are awesome!

You are gonna love your new knife. ;)

Red liners with the green micarta will look great i think.

Good deal going with the convex edge...should be a sweet bushcraft knife....can't wait to see pics of it when its done.

Sounds good! Now you are going to go a little nuts waiting!

Exactly I am kind of looking forward to the wait that way when it comes it's Christmas again

I hope they epoxy it standard

Sorry to bother again but what do you think about a oversized lanyard hole like on the mavrick scout

I don't really use a lanyard but the oversized hole should make it easier to thread one through.

On some knives it messes up the aesthetics IMO but it is a great idea if you use one.

You can put about anything through there within reason

link .. don't know if that will work .. problems over there .. but that's how they do it.

First thing I plan to do with this is make a bush pipe I saw a great vid on YouTube done by this great guyNif you want I can post the vid link

Can anyone post pics with some other blades for size comparison? been thinking of getting myself a bushcrafter for xmas as well. Thanks

Hey y'all. Newb here. Maybe an option for an edge/grind you could go with a convex scandi. Its a scandi grind that is convexed so you get the best of both worlds.

It would be the same process as sharpening any other convexed edge.

And if you sharpen freehand, either with a belt sander, or sand paper, or stones.... the edge will end up being slightly convexed anyways. Unless you are using a guide system over time its impossible to keep the exact same angles and it convex itself.

What did you guys think up that bush pipe, I am trying to get my brother to quit smoking cigarettes and I think he might smoke less if he switches to a pipe
