 Just ordered foxy folly. By far the most unique and compelling blade to me. All the other blades either look like an axe (ww2 or ak) or a pointed blade (M43 ) they look very similar (keep in mind a newbie). Ever since I was first turned onto khukris I was drawn to the foxy folly. I dont know blade designe or just diffrent dont know. Maybe amature reaching for different piece. Just fell in love. Does anyone have any Foxy Folly review's and if it is a work horse or display model. I have an M43 18" horn handle from Sher 35 ounce. Love at first sight destoryer of tree's absolutely in love with it. Just wondering if any reviews about resons not to get foxy folly. ;)

The Folly is a real beaut, and I very much leaned towards them for a while, until gravitating towards something that might be better suited to heavy chopping, like the Ganga Ram or Samsher which I eventually got. I'd magine the Folly would be much more comfortable to take on lengthy hikes and such though. And like you said, it's got a great look. I recall describing it elsewhere as "voluptuous". That's a good thing in my books!

P.S.: I also liked the look of the M43 too. no fullers, but still curvaceous.

I haven't got one.

What many have said in the past, is that the FF is a truly wondrous khuk, a bit further over into the weapon side of the equation than the norm. For all that the blade's broad, the fullers etc. make it comparatively light.

I have several FF's and they are my favorite for fighting. My M43 is my favorite chopper. You picked 2 great ones to start with.

I like the look of the foxy folly as well, so many choices, like a kid in a candy store.

I haven't used mine heavily at all, although i did chop a little and give it the standard whack test. Its a beauty. I like the fact that it "rings" when you flick it with your fingernail!

Baddlegg, I'm probably not the best one to answer this question because I was the one who got the ball rolling on the 17" Foxy Folly and the Foxy Folly is my very favorite khuk.;)
I have one of the original 20" models and I love it so much that I just had to have a 17" model!
I'm not real sure just how many FF's I do have at the moment but I think it is three not counting my full sized 20" model. My favorite of the ones I have weighs in at 27 ounces, which is nigh perfect IMO.
There are several HI Khukuris that cut like a much heavier khukuri such as the 21+" Chitlangi, BGRS, and IMO the FF is one of them.
If I could have only one, may the Gods forbid, my 17" Foxy Folly would be the one.  :D

Here are pics of my 20+" Foxy Folly with a reworked scabbard and the kardas I made for it out of a couple of old beat up knives. The smaller was an old Boy Scout Knife and the larger was an old German Hunting Knife, both had leather washer handles that were beyond repair.

The foxy is my favorite for all of the above reasons. The fullers...the width...that lightness/hard-hitting feel is like magic. If it hasn't been said before...if it hasn't been said enough...THANKS YVSA! I'm definately going to have to special order a 20" foxy.

Just about right for a guy my size, eh Edutsi?

I have several and love them. After much searching I was fortunate enough to get an original horn one (one of the first batch) from Spiral. Of course he has to live 6000 miles away from civilization :D so the dang shipping killed me, but still I am very glad I got it.

At 49 oz. it is too heavy for much regular use, but very well made. The best all around chopper FF I have is one of the first pair of prototypes made, by Sher, that comes in at 17" and 34 oz. Yvsa has the other, and I was fortunate enough to get this from Dan in trade.

The 17" 24 oz. models and 21" 24 oz. Foxy Folly Fighters were just too light for chopping IMO (YMMV), but I think the new standard of 17" and 27-28 oz. is just about perfect. That's a hole in the series I need to fill someday.

Foxjaw in AZ. came up with the original design and named it before I showed up at the Cantina.

BTW, take a look at the Ghurka on the HI web site, and see what he's holding. ;) About a 16" Dui Chirra, but a twin of the FF from the side view.
