I am looking at the Glock 27 for concealed carry, want to know your impressions of it, and if I might be overlooking another model for ease of carry, size, etc.
I really want something more compact and easy to carry than my old Ruger P94, but I like the .40 S&W caliber.

I think the G-35 is a micro .45 and maybe a little smaller than the G27.
Besides, if you buy a G27 that may push up the price on my second
one. :p

i have a 26 and 33, great guns imho, the 33 was my edc for a few yrs, still carry it some, accurate, very reliable (none of my 4 glocks has ever malfunctioned) light, easy to carry, only con is they are a little wide. other than a kahr poly (ie P9 or PM9) they are my fav carry pistols.

imho the kahr P9 and PM9 are lots easier to pack, they are lighter and thinner, less rounds though (7-8 vs 12), but they do carry better imho. also they are probably more accurate, just as reliable as the glocks. probably more expensive though....my very most fav carry pistol is the P9, like it a little better than the smaller PM9, but both are excellent.

but if ya want a glock, they are excellent also, just depends on what ya like.

FWIW i dont think the '35 is smaller than the 27, the 9MM platform glocks (ie 26,27 and 33) are the smallest/lightest glocks, though the '35 isnt much bigger/heavier.

also FWIW the 26 is easier to shoot than the 27/33, the .40 and .357SIG really "torque" in your hand more than the 9MM, just a thought. i got the 33 and then got another bbl. from glock and can shoot both the .40 S&W and the .357SIG by just swapping bbls, the spring/mag/etc is all the same, kinda neat. also added a glock "+2" floorplate and it now holds 11 rounds in the mag and has a nice extension for my hand, again, neat imho. note: only buy glock brand floorplates, the scherer/etc DO NOT add 2 they add 1. also imho glocks should always be carried in a holster (ie not slipped into your waistband) for safetys sake. another plus for the kahrs imho.

I LOVED my Glocks, but have sold them all. Don't get me wrong, they are excellent guns, but they are wide. I have sold all my Glocks. I prefer my Kahr's. They are slimmer, and for me, make a better CCW. I have an Elite 98 w/ night sights in 9mm and .40.

I carry my G27 when I want to "carry light" (my normal carry pistol is my huge 10mm G20). The 27 is an excellent pistol, and the width really isn't all THAT bad. I have the Pearce Grip Extender on all my 27 mags, which adds one more round to the magazine, but it also gives a nice place to put my "pinky finger" on.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as the clean-shaven lad that preceeded me in this thread....except my other Glock isn't a G20 / cal.10mm it's a G36 / cal. .45acp! Nothing wrong with a G27.....arguably more firepower (due to increased capacity) than the G36....just got a wild hair to own a .45 and was already a GlockGuy!:D

PS...."carryin' light" includes my SW 642 / cal. 38spl. in my rt. ft. pocket as an option.

I'm a .45 guy. I carried a Glock 30 IWB for a couple of years, and it wasn't bad, but I found that even a full size 1911 (which I carry now) is more comfortable, because of the reduced width. This is especially true if you carry a spare mag. For a lighter load, I have a Sig P245. I owned a Glock 27 for a while, and it's a nice little gun, but if you can carry that, you can probably carry a G 23 just as easily, with 13 rounds and more barrel.

Had a 27 and just did not like it. Got a 23 which I carrry and really like. The 23 seems to me to be much easier to handle rapid fire.

Compact, powerful, fairly accurate, can use standard Glock mags for extra firepower. Recoil is not bad. They make a great CCW or BUG IMHO.

I couldn't agree more! Have had one for serveral months and tend to carry it more than any other pistol. It has excellent accuracy. Bites a tad compared with a Glock 26 but once you get used to it, it is absolutely not a problem. Makes shooting the G26 feel like you are firing a .22.

My absolute favorite is the Glock 30 but it's harder to conceal during warm weather periods.

Thanks for all the responses, Everyone!
I went ahead and got the 27 :) it came with two mags with Pearce extenders, Tritium sights, and a really nice moulded leather holster. Seems to be a sweet little gun, I plan on doing some shooting tomorrow.

well, I shot just two boxes of ammo through it, and I was suitably impressed with the accuracy- I could hit what I was aiming at much of the time, and overall it seems alot more accurate than my old P94 Ruger, despite a slightly shorter barrel. very pleasant to shoot, I like it alot. It is also very easy to carry, in fact I am carrying it right now. One of the nicest things about it is the ease of cleaning and disassembly, easier than the P94 by far. Great little pistol. I might have to go and shoot some more today. :D
