If you are inclined to display your knife collection when not using them Id like to know how some of you accomplish this. I have seen clear acryllis solo stands that give a floating appearance from a distance, to wooden display stands that accomodate mulitple knives, and then there are the drawer style displays or storage systems and osme of these have a glass "shadow box" top.

Just curious others are doing this if at all. In my office i have cabinets with glass doors so solo or mulitple stands would work while still protecting from dust.

I always carry one with me but there are those that have been too expensive or carry to much sentamental value to be EDC's.

Thank you!!!!

Great thread! I'd be interested in this as well. Maybe even just for like holding the knives? I have them all lined up in a cabinet normally, but it'd be kinda cool to have a nice display case where I take out whatever I wanted to carry for the day.

I have mine all in their original boxes...in a box. I have very few that I carry. Generally, it's my CRK Umnumzaan, followed by a Sebenza.

I think you have to be careful with displaying knives so people don't get the wrong impression about you. I have a collection of custom hunting knives, and some that look a little more tactical. I would like to be able to display them but I think that would give the wrong impression. I might someday get one of those stand up mechanic's tool chests and put them in it. With all of the shallow drawers it would be easy to have the knives easily viewable just by pulling out drawers. Right now my knives are all wrapped up and hidden away somewhere. It would be very difficult for me to even find any particular one if I had to.

AG Russell sells various sizes of memory foam/felt backed cases that I have just started using. They are stackable, easy to access, and affordable. As of this writing a 9 x 13 runs between $45 to $55. I was able to fit 6 medium sized folders. Very attractive presentation. The only concern I have is if I would damage the scales on some of these with abalone, pearl, etc. The glass puts a bit of pressure on the knives to force them into the memory foam thereby preventing movement within the display. Not much pressure, but enough to make me wonder. The folks at AG Russell have been more than helpful with advice. Apparently, they've used these things for years in their showroom with no adverse results.

Hope this helps someone, including myself. If I'm heading down the wrong path, would someone please let me know?

My biggest concern would be theft. Breaking into a house or apartment and right before your very eyes are 20-100 knives sitting there, asking to be taken away.
