My "office carry" includes the Swiss-Tech MicroPlus, the SOG CrossGrip and CrossCut.

I've found the MicroPlus pliers difficult to use, but I like its regular phillips and flathead screwdrivers. The microscrewdrivers are too big for my eyeglass screws.

I like the CrossGrip pliers and the CrossCut scissors, but they both have tools can be difficult to deploy quickly. You must unfold the tool to access the implements.

I was thinking of getting the Swiss-Tech UtiliKey.

Which minitools are your favorites and why? Your opinions are welcome.

The only tool I ever find myself needing is my crossgrip. it is my favorite multitool ever! If you feel the need then go ahead and get a utilikey, but i think you are well-equipped.

Brandon:rolleyes:

I've carried the Leatherman Micro tool but prefer the Buck Mini
Tool. It has needle nose pliers as well as scissors and the small
screwdrivers (phillips and standard) work on the screws on sunglasses.

I thought about the Buck MiniTool, but the review I read said the phillips has only three edges, and would slip if not grippping the screw head-on.

Leatherman Micra all the way!
Before the Micra I carried a Wenger Handyman SAK. It's very useful but much more bulky than the Micra. I do miss the SAK wood-saw though.

The reviews I've read elsewhere in these forums say the Micra tends to rust easily and is not as robust as the SOG minitools.

Well, to be fair to SOG, I don't own one (I did handle one in a store--it seemed okay).
But I have been using the Micra for months now and I don't see any rust yet.
As for robust: you just have to remember that it is designed for light tasks only. I would'nt use it to remove my car's radiator.

However, I was disappointed that the paint flaked off so easily.
Good luck,
Allen.

I carry a SOG crossgrip and SAK Tinker; never did like those tiny scissors so don't carry my Micra anymore.

The Swisstech utilitykey's point was too sharp and punctured through my pocket. If I sat wrong, it jabbed my leg...luckily it didn't jab anything else! :(

It does have a high coolness rating though and is well made.

Were you carrying it loose in your pocket, or attached to a keyring that was sitting in your pocket?

That was a close call! You might have been left with a, well, a minitool!:o
