Thinking of 'pulling the trigger' so to speak on a 30-06 autoloader. I already have a bolt in the same caliber, thus would like to remain with that caliber.

I've looked into the BAR, Benelli R1 and Remington and am leaning toward the Remington. (About $600 to 700 + scope for about same amount would be about a $1200 investment....same as a BAR without scope).

-any opinions on the Remington 750 from those who have had one?

It's primary use will be for hunting deer.

Not sure where you are shopping but you can find the BAR for under $850.00 just about anywhere. Nothing wrong with any of the guns you listed, just depends on what fits you best. Try shouldering all of them and see which feels best to you and go that way. My personal preference is for the Browning , I know how strong they are. I have a BAR I had reworked to shoot the 375/338 wildcat. This is the equivalent of the 375H&H and the gun handles it fine.

Late breaking news....I'm swinging toward the BAR. I did find out the price is lower than I thought. Supposedly much more reliable than the 750 as well.
