Opinions on SOG Scuba/Demo

well, being it is a sog, i would not recommend it. i have two, neither of them the knife you want, but IMO, sog knives are well overpriced for the [mostly] crap they put out. :thumbdn::barf:

I don't want anyone getting offended for what i said, it is just my opinion!

well they are discontinued and I found some for $150
I thought use it or wait a year and put it on ebay for twice what I paid for it

Tossing around negative opinions based on a couple of samples is lame. Most of the big SOG knives are pretty good. But buying knives, especially production knives, as an investment is not a great way to get rich.

well look what happened with becker
they were production blades
I never thought a $90 brute could go for $450 on ebay

do you own the scuba/demo?

I think SOG does make some good knives for the price. But that one, I feel is way overpriced for AUS8 steel. You can get the same performance out of similar sog knives with the same steel for much less.

they're new fusion knives are crap

I do find it kindov funny that they make a folder called the muscle car that sells for about$9 online but then they make a $2500 field knife that is immpossible to get ahold of

now, i could think the $2500 knife could be better!:)

Well I just rec. a Magnum f.b. by BOKER and frankly had trepidations up the wazoo about winning it on ebay. Kind of forgot I bid on it but no one else did. The deal here is I rec. the knife yesterday and couldn't be more pleased. This is one very put together fighter/survival knife that oozes quality and shows a very high degree of fit and finish. Crisp and sharp grind lines, very well done satin finish, it is big, the double lugged guard is so tightly finished to the ricasso area it looks like an integral knife. Sculpted micarta handles with nickel silver pins and the micarta is polished to a very high degree. Has red liners between the tang and micarta. Has perfect grind lines that are straight and it is sharp as hell. AUS8a blade with axe edge on the spine. I also rec. a Buck General last week or 2 weeks ago with the point being is that the "cheap" Magnum blows it out of the water as for quality of fit and finish. No comparision really. I would look around for one of these Bokers. You won't go wrong imho, and I don't say that lightly. Oh yea the leather sheath is of very high quality too. keepem sharp
