Opinions on stainless vs. carbon

Hello all. I just ordered a 25-6" with a stainless blade. Did I make a mistake? I intend the knife to be a user rather than a collecter piece and as such I want it to take and hold a decent edge without a lot of upkeep. I generally touch up my knives after using them so I thought that the stainless would suit me better, but if the carbon steel that Randall is using is light-years ahead of their stainless then I want to know about it now so I can change my order. Any help would be appreciated.

I used a stainless 5-6 for deer for a bit, it did a fine job and I just resharpened at the end of each season. I was however careful to avoid bone and hair (skin cut inside to out). I use a hacksaw for the joints and pelvis.
