Hey all, I'm having a hard time finding in-depth thoughts about this knife. Can anyone offer any insight or point me in the right direction?

This knife has me strangely intrigued and I can't figure out why.

Thanks!

the 2.0 is the folder and is made buy lionsteel out of Italy, I had one and wasn't a big fan, they are known for their titanium being softer than other framelocks, which could lead to lock rock , on the plus side , If anything goes wrong with the knife they have a no questions asked warranty and will replace the knife, The ergos are pretty good on the knife, but I hated the pocket clip and it just seemed like they tried to cram a lot of crap in a little folder, It's a decent knife but for the money there are a few knives I would go with before the 2.0, for instance I traded my 2.0 for a zt 550 and haven't regretted it. I would buy a used one no matter the condition and test it out, and if the knife has problems send it in and get you a brand new one, that's how I got my 2.0, but if it's good keep it and use it, you may like the knife , to each his own, I was just giving my $.02

Good to know! I was thinking of selling my 0550 to purchase a Heist 2.0

Personally I liked the HEST much more than the 550. I was between the 2 and bought the HEST. It was a good knife. Solid frame lock and the Roto lock is awesome. Plus it can be waved open if you want. Handy. Only thing I didn't like was the glass breaker and it came with a replacement screw so you could take the glass breaker off. I'd say try it, you might like it.

Some good info here guys. Much appreciated!

Can anyone comment on the function of the cutout on the blade spine? I like the idea of it being a thumb rest when you choke up on the blade but does it really work?

It's a bottle opener. I have an original Hest folder. Btw, I think it's a great little knife.

i like the zt 0550 but i also like the hest there fore i have both the blade spine funticion is a bold opener but can also be used as a wave

Yeah the only reason I ask is that the DPx site lists the feature as a bottle opener/thumb grip. Can it actually be used as such?

Glad to hear the 1.0 issues have been fixed, I would expect nothing less from LionSteel.

I'm soooooo close to pulling the trigger on the Red BladeHQ exclusive...

I have had my HEST 2 for over a year with no problems. I reeeeeeeealllllly like it. The size and weight are perfect for me. I don't have a 0550 so I can't say much about swapping one for the other but I can say I carry mt HEST more than my ZT 0561, not because I think the HEST is a better knife than the 0561 but because of the size.DPX is coming out with a few new folders soon so you might want to check those out also.

The bottle-opener/wave notch is not very comfortable as a thumb-stop if you are bare handed - but it can provide a place to stop your thumb if you need that.

I have the original version of this knife and find it to be very nice, and I like the wave open, roto block and that it was made by Gianni at Lionsteel.

Plus, I can get the D2 blade extremely sharp -

This thread is the first time I had ever heard of the Lionsteel titanium being softer than other cutlers examples. Not saying it is not so, just that I have not seen or heard of that problem.

My example is a couple of years old, has been carried and has no problems with play or lockup.

best
