I like Camillus and wanted to know if the EDC is a worthwhile knife. How does it hold up against corrosion and how well does the framelock work?

Thanks!

It's a great knife! The frame lock is very secure, and the blade comes very sharp. In my mind it is a great utility knife, and I used one as such for about a year at my job for cutting up boxes, zip ties etc.

I even used it to hack up thick plastic using a hammer to drive it through, prying and scraping stuff off shelves, and prying apart displays. I finally killed it one night when it got jammed between a couple of pieces of tack welded steel, covered in cardboard. I thought I was trying to pry apart a piece of glued cardboard, and the blade snapped. I would buy another one, if I hadn't decided to go and order the custom version from the man himself, DDR.

I like my EDC folder to be in the 3" - 4" range, so yeah the blade is a bit small. Never really bothered me though, and I got along just fine with it. However I really do like a bit of a larger blade so the one I am having custom made will have a 3.5" blade.

Yeah its a nice knife and a great deal for the price. Had used mine for a year with no greater problems. The only snag with the knife is not the short blade but the short blade-thumb stud combo :) .A bit irritating if you want to cut large pieces (like bread). The framelock is a real ingenious design! Once I accidentally got some Teflon lubricant on it and nothing-no closing, secure as ever. And I think I heard that Camillus will stop producing the knife so in a few years it will be a rare discontinued knife;)

Anyway I definitely recommend it.

It is not a super large tactical knife. It is meant for EDC!!!!! Quit griping about the size. It is a great knife. I believe that it would perform most tasks admirably. It seems to be a perfect compromise between size and carriability.
Need a larger knife? Carry an axe or a gun.
I was completely surprised by the quality. It is superb. Very, very tight.
