I've been looking through Emerson's catalogue and loving the hell out of what I've been seeing. However, the only direct experience I have with handling their knives is a brief visit to a knife store this weekend where I got to hold a couple of them (namely, the CQC-7a and the Commander).
Of all of their currently available models, I've mostly had my eye on the Super CQC-8 plain edge. I like it because it has a large blade (4.3") and a nice up-swept clip point (good for the kind of cutting I commonly do - boxes, fibrous string, industrial tape, etc). I also like the texturing on Emerson's G-10 handles.
I was wondering if any of you own a Super CQC-8 and can talk about your experience with the knife. What do you like about it? What do you wish was different? Comments about Emerson knives in general are also welcome - this will be my first Emerson knife, and they are a bit more expensive than other brands tend to be, so I'd like to make my first purchase the right purchase.
Thanks, fellas.
