Opinions on the Garrett Wade Opinel-type knives...?

Has anyone tried these (n)opinels from Garrett Wade? http://www.garrettwade.com/ebony-ringlock-knife/p/12K01.02/

They look nice and are a little more expensive than Opinels. Can anyone speak to their steel and how sturdy they are?

Edit: I forgot to add that I contacted GW asking about the steel in these knives and never got a response. Does anyone have any information as to how good their customer service is?

I like how the sheath costs more than any of the knives. Those wood handles look great, thanks for the link.

They're not that much more expensive, but they sure do look a hell of a lot nicer.

The blade seems to say 'Marjacq'.
 
Wow, GW is a lot cheaper. What kind of steel is X46CR13 stainless steel? How does it measure up?
 
I have exact model in the picture and also Opinel. This knife has serious problem with the ring lock. It is very lose and you can even hear the metal when you shake it. The first bevel is very thick. So the knife is extremely dull out of the box.

But the look and finish are great. I think they are good for show.

I guess that does it for me...I'll stick to the Opinel...

46CR13 stainless steel is on the order of 420HC.
How good it is will depend on the heat treat. 420HC works good for Buck.
 
Looks kind of neat, and being relatively inexpensive, to combat that whole "loose ring" problem, I'd probably just pop it off, tighten the ring, and smack it back on. That's the beauty of the Opinel design. Shoot, even if the ring was missing, it'd still work just fine.
