Opinions on the Leatherman Crunch

I was looking at getting a new multi-tool and I always thought the Crunch looked like a good tool. I never got the chance to handle one, but was interested on the opinions on them for someone who does own one. It would mostly be for a tool to keep in my truck or BOB, but if I liked it enough I may EDC it.

I bought one for a buddy (commercial electrician) I worked with, and he really liked it. Its fiddly, but he found it really helpful. one thing that he found was cool was the screw adjuster is removable, and he carried a couple six inch driver bits mostly for robertsons, but handy for reaching. he didn't use the wire-stipper much but liked the blade.

I bought one and liked it. The problem for me is that I rarely need locking pliers and when I do they need to be larger than the Crunch.

My wife bought me an engraved one for our first Christmas together as a married couple. I've always found that while it's a bit slow to deploy, the locking pliers have been very useful.
One of the few Leatherman products that haven't been changed or retired by the company.

They did retire it for a while, but then brought it back unchanged. I think its one of those tools with a small but very dedicated fan-base.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll have to try one out. Maybe they will have some good deals on Black Friday.

Try checking out Cutlery Shoppe. I saw today that they have a pretty good price on the Crunch. Never shopped there so I have no idea what they're like.

Very cool tool, but like said above I just don't need vise grips that often. Truth be told I carry Leatherman tools quite often, but do not use the pliers that often.
