I have recently noticed the Mini X-Ray, what an efficient package! Now, I have only seen pictures and was wondering if any of you have the real thing. The three top questions I have are as follow: (1) Do I have to get a 50/50 serrated model or will plain edge be an option? The websight makes it sound like you have to go with 50/50. (2) How well designed is the new deep pocket clip. Does it carry as well as hoped? (3) How does it feel in the average sized hand? It looks perfectly hand filling, with great ergonomics. Just curious about these fine points. Thanks

Hi Wire Edge,

SOG's new Mini X-Ray Vision has just begun shipping over the past couple/few weeks. It is a very fun little knife. I have one here at my desk and have been playing with it regularly.

Let me answer your questions from my perspective:
  1. Serrated versions: Only the partially serrated model is in production and I have not heard of any plans about making a fully straight model.
  2. New clip: This works surprisingly well. It drops completely into one’s pocket, is easy to withdraw (there are neat little ridges on the clip face to assist in gripping), is stout, and can easily be reversed for left-handed carry.
  3. Size: I have small to medium sized hands. The knife fits well, though a tad small for my personal tastes. My Night Vision (with a 3.75” blade) fit my hand perfectly. The Mini X-Ray Vision also fits fine, but my little finger does hang off the butt of the knife. It is a very pleasant and user-friendly.

    Hope this helps.
