I recently purchased a G10 plainedge and was wondering what anyone thinks of this knife.

I like the slender profile of the G10 (an AFCK is my regular carry) but the tip seems like it might be a little brittle compared to my BM. The knife is really well put together...love the G10 scales on this one...I have to say that the overall finish on the knife is a lot better than my '99 Emerson CQC7...

As an everyday carry though..I guess it's mostly a matter of opinion...would it be as practical a knife as my AFCK?? how do the 2 steels compare??
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...
thanks in advance

sorry..I guess the above should've been in the Spyderco forum..I'm new to this..

The police is one of my favorite knives, I have both serrated and plain models, and use it for my EDC. I have carried the Police for a long time, beginning with a stainless model I carried for over 5 years until it disappeared.

It isn't difficult to sharpen, carries well in the pocket, and in my opinion is very tough and durable.

You made a good choice!

been carrying it around for the past few days now and I'm liking it a lot...I like the slim profile...very lightweight

One thing I don't like though is that I think it carries too high in my front pocket :( Part of the blade can be seen and makes it a little more conspicuous..also it can't be taken apart like my AFCK or EKI CQC7..not a big deal but it would be nice for cleaning and tuning purposes...

anyway thus far I'm liking it a lot and I'm happy with my purchase...

You can't tighten the pivots on spydercos can you? What happens if it losens up?

thats a good question ian_j.. I'm lucky I haven't had that problem yet with any of my spydercos yet...maybe it's a warranty issue..

Although with my G10 police there actaully is a pivot that you can tighten...not my endura though..

Tightening pivots on riveted spydercos: tap the rivet gently with a hammer and you can tighten it as much as you like. If you go a bit too far, just work your blade around and it'll loosen a bit....
