Hopefully, I will be the proud new owner of an Elishewitz Specter with Ti. bolsters, and cf scales. I believe it's the regular size model, does anyone think it's too large? I heard the blade length was 3 1/2", but Allen's webpage shows 3 3/4". I like the sixe of the Striker, so I guess I want to know how much bigger it is than the Striker.

I love the way the Striker looks and feels, but I don't like the flat edge, and upward angle of the edge with the handle. The Specter looks like my 2nd. favorite, then the Cortex, but does the Specter seem to have too much belly? Is the tip too thin? TIA

AR,

I handled a few Specters at the show, I liked the way they looked and felt, even over the Striker! Much slimmer, nice balance, blade size was just right, you won't even notice the extra lenght, it also comes in the two sizes, the small seems REALLY small and have you seen the new clip Allen is using? I really like it. Rambling......

I really like the look and feel of the Specters. The belly and sweep of the blade is what is so attractive. I don't know if it would stand up to heavy use as a utility blade, but I doubt that is what it was designed for.

What makes you think that HJK? Is it because the egde is soooo thin? Is the blade itself too thin? TIA for the advice.

I dunno what part of the blade, if any, is tooooo thin, Jackyl. It's just the thought of subjecting that elegent, tapered, fighting
blade to the indignities of utility-esque chores as if it were a Gator that doesn't seem quite right. I know my Phantom didn't like it much, but I apologized to it and promised not to do it again. I leave that to knives that don't complain as much, like BM's or, to take something more nearly equivalent, a Lightfoot Predator Backup.

I boutgh one of the first Specters at the NYC Show a few years ago. It has ti handles and a linear pattern of tooled "stars." I like the knife. It is a good defnsive folder - very srticstic design. Allen told me that the inspiration for the design came from a Chinese saber.

Hi,

IMHO the best looking piece from Allen
I have the new Ti handled with monolock
It has one of the most esthetically appealing blade designed, and with the new Ti monolock - I think the design has attained maturity with the years and evolved into a prime example of Allen's work.
