Has anyone seen these yet? Sterling silver or nickel silver trappers from Mooremaker. I find them interesting and they remind me of the old souveneir knives and the Remington ad knives like Coca-Cola ans Goodwill shoes.

Goodwill shoes? I guess. :p

I would expect them to be made to the normal standards of quality by whoever is making them, but that kind of thing doesn't cause me an urge to spend money; they look too much like a novelty item. I guess if novelty items are one's thing, then they would be fine. Doesn't hit my weak spot(s) though. - Ed

I haven't seen them, but kinda like them. Maybe because I grew up as a cowboy of sorts.
I agree they look like a novelty knife, but if the quality is there, it might be neat to have one

They seem like they'd be really uncomfortable in hand when you're using 'em.

Hi George,
Goodwill shoes was a shoe company in the town I grew up in. Holliston Ma. Remington made a brass shoe shaped knife, that one day I will be lucky to find.
I agree about the novelty look, but I imagine the silver one would patina up nicely and be slim enough to be really pockitable.I was never a big fan of ad knives but these bring back a bit of traditional history.

That picture reminds me of The Oregon Trail.
Set the rations to bare bones and the pace to grueling! Let's go hunting again; I'm only buying bullets!!!

Rollin,rollin,rollin......

Nobody else is doing this.Maybe it will become another trend if they are sold cheap enough. The sterling ones are a bit steep, but not unreasonable. The NS ones are even better. if these were made of brass I could imagine a decent user knife for cheap money to be sold at hardware stores nationally, like the old days.

Steve, the solution here is obviously for you to buy one of those and tell us all what you think! ;) Be a pioneer! :D

I did see those on Moore Maker's site, and thought they looked cool. Not really my thing, but I do like the idea! Moore Maker makes a lot of interesting stuff. I covet that stockman Elliott is always rubbing in our faces. :p

Me too. That one (the trapper), Is there a name for those type? would be last on my list. I still need to get a GEC something (trapper or stockman), another Queen, and I'm working on getting a barrell knife if it's still there.

I am drawn to it though. I like things that are a bit different.
