Opinions on these two boots

Mate, I don't know your age ,but "cheap" should
NEVER be applied to boots or shoes. They are the
foundation on which YOU stand and depend on to
protect your feet, legs, hips & spine.

Buy a GOOD pair of boots and wear them for a longer
time as it will be much cheaper ( and kinder to
YOUR body) than a million "cheap" boots/shoes.

Cheap footwear is alway penneywise and pound
foolish.:( :(

I guess I was aiming for most bang for the buck. Oh well, time to get me some Danner's:cool: . Thanks, Tightwad!:)

One good thing about danner's is they can be resoled. This saves money in the long run. I was going through a pair of Hi-tech Magnums and Rocky 911s every year. I have had the same pair of Danners for 6 years now. I have had them resoled once. They are so comfortable now that my feet hurt if I wear anything else.

That being said, if you are looking for boots that arent going to be worn everyday and don't want to fork out the money for Danners, there are some decent boots out there. Bates and Thorogood arent bad.

Danner makes some that aren't too bad as far as price goes, but they aren't resoleable.

I would forego Bates for Bellevilles, but that's just because Bates has sizing issues. Bates does make good shoes, but not boots. My opinion, of course.

I've got a pair of Danner Acadias and they were worth every red cen. Funny thing, the pain in my lower back goes away when I'm wearing the boots, despite the fact I'm loaded like a pack mule.

You might also want to check out Dr. Marten's boots.

I have a pair that I wear to work and they are exceptionally comfortable and at 9 months and counting still look like new with an occasional shine.

Definately worth a look.

Birkenstock www.birkenstock.com also makes several styles of boots. I have a pair of their sandals and don't intend to ever buy any other brand of shoe for casual wear. I can walk all day in my Arizona sandals without a blister or soreness of any kind. I've actually done that, when I wore them to Cedar Point, a big amusement park in Ohio. I spent all day on my feet, walking around and standing in line, and they have never felt so good at the end a day at the park. That said, Doc Martens are good too. I just like Birkenstock's a little bit better. Everyone's feet are different though.
