opinions on this knife?

Looks exactly like a Gerber Gator. (with a thumbstud)

Well it's 420 steel to start.....If you got it free then I would guess that that is what it is worth. But as long as you're happy.

You know though, that by telling us you got it "free" then that kinda screws up what you can get for it on the exchange:D

Glad it was free. That is a knock-off of the USA-made Gerber Gator clip-point. The handle should be quite comfortable but more suited to a fixed-blade than a folder, it's rather bulky as well as grippy. The blade on that one is likely to be very cheap steel and overly thick behind the edge, that and the serrations will make a frustration to sharpen at a decent angle but I guess good for practice. I usually recommend practicing on a plain-edge blade with a thinner edge-shoulder to make it more obvious when you are making progress and easier to change the bevel angle as desired. Good luck with our purchase.

Yea, i got 2 Mora on the way, im gonna practice on them aswell, cuz its kinda annoying to sharpen a knife with so much serrations

Practice on your kitchen knives too, I'd bet you have at least a couple dull kitchen knives, most people do.

I dont really like it because of the serrations but 420 stainless is an ok steel if it is heat treated right, But thats my opinion.
