I really like flippers, so I looking around for a edc. Price range $30 to $200.
I'm on many e mail list for a southard, and I own a zt 0561 which is great, I was looking for something Alittle less beefy.

I believe it's a kershaw scallion was the first knife I bought at a hunting store.
I brought it home, flipped it open, fell out of my hand and straight into a wood floor.
Tip has been bent ever since, but I still have it, it has the speed safe, and it has a place in my van for work.

Any comments on there favorite flipper, and why it's there favorite is greatly appreciated.

I only have two knives with flippers, a CRKT M21 and a Buck Vantage. The M21 is too large for me to carry around legally, but the flipper on it is great. It was my first flipper knife and led me to buy the Buck, which is legal for me to carry. I really like it. I've read a lot of negatives about it, but mine's well centered and solid; I carry it a lot. It kicked an Endura IV out of my pocket. It was like $30 so I'm not afraid to use it, and it's really surprised me. You can try one out for less than a nice dinner out.

My CRKT M16 is the only flipper I have and it works pretty well. It's a big knife, but it fits me nicely. Got if for $60 almost 10 years ago at a local gun shop.

Kershaw Skyline - effortless opening. Also very addictive.

Same for the Kershaw Zing.

lightest is the Buck Vantage Select, and I love mine for 25 bucks.

The only flipper I have is a BM 300SN. I don't generally like flippers and A/Os, but I really like AXIS locks and 154CM, so I kept the 300. It should be a bit shorter and lighter than the 561, even if it's no thinner. Even with the flipper, though, I open it with the thumb studs. I've had Buck and ZT flippers, I just don't care for the flipper aspect. Thumb studs or disks work fine for me so that's usually what I favor.

The Southard is a fantastic flipper, it's one of my favorite EDC's. Along with it, Benchmade's 300SN is a great flipper as well. It is a little beefier and heavier, but it's a fantastic knife that also sees time in my pocket. If you're looking for light and quick, the Kershaw Skyline is great; I bought one for my girlfriend to keep in her purse and she loves its size and weight.

I strongly recommend the Kershaw Oso Sweet. I'm impressed with mine. Super sharp, nice ergonomics, and that liner lock is stronger than it looks.
