Going to get another clip knife and I like the looks of the 847 Vantage Force Pro and the 347 Vantage Pro. Almost the same knife but the Vantage Force Pro is just a bit heavier. I am debating with myself if I want to carry that big of a knife or if I should consider the 342 Vantage Pro or the 016 Lux Pro. I haven't heard much about the 016 Lux Pro. I haven't considered the 337 Paradigm Pro because it is a little heavier yet and looks bulky for my use. What do you think?

I have a 340 as my EDC, I do have a couple of 345s and they are too big for me. I am on the search for a 342 but they really do seem hard to come by. I dont think they are made anymore? I may settle and get a 341 in the rosewood when they come back around.

The Paradigm takes some getting used to. I carried one on a hike for about three months and couldn't use a Vantage without thinking about it when I got back…so you do get used to them.

I haven't found a person yet that I could hand a Paradigm to and they could open it. That makes it kind of fun.

The choices that work for me in order are;
#1- Paradigm
#2- Vantage Pro
#3- Vantage Force Pro

The 342 and Lux are both too small for my liking.

I used a Vantage Pro daily for nearly a year and really like it, but still liked the Paradigm better after got used to it.

The 342 is in the 2014 Buck Catalog, so they must till make them, but I think the 347 has been very popular since they came out. I would like rosewood scales, but I think they would be heavier, maybe not.

I would take the Vantage Pro over the Pro Force and the Paradigm any day. I don't like the coating on the Force and the Paradigm feels more like a toy that will break to me. I have had all of them and its just my opinion. I love the Vantage line and carry the Select and Avid all the time. To me the extra few dollars isnt worth the extra time it takes to sharpen the S30V steel. I prefer the Select.

I don't have a Vantage Force Pro anymore and I got rid of the small Vantages, but I do have a Paradigm Pro and Vantage Pro if you would like to hold them and play with them for a week or two.

It would give you a better answer than what works for everyone else.

The me the Force scales looked harder and more firm and the Pro looked a little rubbery. I have never seen either so maybe you will tell me about the scales on the Vantage Pro.. Firm enough?

Great input Stumpy. I thought the Paradigm look a little clumpy, but again, I have never seen one, so maybe it is just the picture. The opener looked like something that could get hung up in your pocket, but maybe not. Guess I will stick with the bigger knife. I only like the little ones for when I have to wear a suit, which is rarely anymore. Thanks.

I could drive up to your place to check them out and look at your old 110 while there. Just joking. There is no use in shipping them both ways, I do appreciate the offer though.

They are hard to find online. One site had them listed as discontinued. So im on the search for a small avid or pro. No opinion on the lux or paradigm, but vantage feels great in my hand.

The paradigm and vantage are essentially the same knife aside from the locking mechanism and assist. I added a spitfire to the top and a tempest to the bottom for so perspective. Personally I love the spitfire for an edc. I like tip down carry which none of the other knives have. On days that I am not working a may start carrying my paradigm pro.

The only thing I can contribute here is- I bought a Vantage Force (*wish they made a small one*) in beige color. Using the RIT dye technique, described in several spots on BF, I dyed the scales orange. I like the color, I can keep track of it when I lay it down with my hands full. There are times when you have no option. Ever field dress a deer ?
Its not rosewood or stag or good jigged bone. No its not mastodon ivory or ebony. But I like it and that's all that counts. If I am going modern style knife might as well go all the way. And yes I do have a orange Bucklite. A Selector in fact, that I use hunting also.

So much for my ole fart image....? 300

Before picture. The bone 55 needed more effort or another color. Have not continued on with it.

Vantage Pro. I just can't get over what a great knife it is. Nothing stops it, and the size is perfect in my pocket.
