So I just started my first knife. 1/8 1084. I have the left over piece and i see two options. A mini cleaver or a sheepsfoot style fixed. What do you all think?
Not sure if the image works?

Although they sometimes look cool a “mini” cleaver isn’t real useful. If you’re just playing do the design and make what looks more fun. If you want to use it make a sheepsfoot style.

I see a lot of options in that piece of steel. With that said, I tend to agree Red; a sheepsfoot would be more useful than a mini cleaver. The sheepsfoot-shaped side could also be a drop point, spear point, clip point, etc. The only real limited area for that piece of steel regarding having a variety of profile options would the area for the handle, since it's relatively narrow. Just make what you'd like :)

Sheeps foot sounds more practical, I have two Nighthaxan lime cutters, not sure if I would call them some type of sheeps foot. But more for cutting up fruit for some drinks and maybe some kitchen work.

OK I gotta ask.....Vincent L'Abruzzo

your name indicates your family is from Abruzzo, Italy? Mine is from Pescara....

loks good.
If the steel is thin enough you can make a credit card knife out of the left over piece
