I was just flipping through the Spydie 2013 Catalog the other day and saw the Salt Series Section and a thought occurred to me, why is there not salt series version of the Spyderco UKPK. To be clear i do live in the US, yet I find my self carrying the BD1 UKPK ,in black FRN, more and more just because of its weight, blade length, and super deep carry. I thought this would be a good idea because I'm sure some people in other countries would love to be able to carry a H1 blade and still be EDCing the knife legally.

Just a quick thought. I would love to hear others' opinions on the subject.

You and I are on the same page, brother. In fact, I made a thread a while ago BEGGING Sal for such a thing. He seemed interested, but maybe he was just being polite at my raving. Either way, I think it would be a great idea. I live in San Antonio, which bans locking folders. It looks like this law is going to change soon, thanks to the awesome KnifeRights group and Mr. Ritter, but I still love my FRN UKPK, and carry it all the time. I think an H1 blade would be awesome, and in fact, when they changed the hollow ground models to FFG earlier this year, I was excited: for whatever reason, H1 cannot be FFG, which to me, possibly suggests that they made the CTS BD1 FFG to make room in the lineup for the H1 HG In the last thread, someone suggested the name SlipStream, which I think is quite nice. -

I live in the very humpid state of GA. Don't think there is a more humid state in the US, and I've never had a problem with rust on my UKPK. I don't think there would be alot of demand for an H1 UKPK.

I have no interest in non-locking knives, regardless of steel, but am sure there are those who'd buy one in H-1. Only problem might be with acquiring H-1 for use in a US made knife. An Urban Salt might be more feasible, since the Urban was made in Japan.
