Opinions sought on Puma Waidblatt

What would you like to know about it? Give me the 5 digit number on the bottom of the hilt and I can date it for you. Although it doesn't say on the blade it is Pumaster steel, not stainless.

I will have a look tonight for the numbers, thanks! Looking at the rust patina that was on the full tang and blade, it looks like a carbon steel rather than a stainless model to me.

If it helps the blade was marked as follows:
Origional-Puma-Waidblatt-nach
oberforstmeister frevert best no.3588 Germany handarbeit

The sheath is quite old looking and the hilt strap clips over a brass pin.

Do you know the make up of this Pumamaster steel? Is it well regarded etc?

Thanks!:)

Don't look too hard for the 5 digit number, it may not be there based on the small washers around the rivets. One of the reasons the sheath is so expensive is the older ones are Kangaroo. Have you tried www.toolshop.com? I have had extremely good relations with a guy named Stefan there, ask him for a price on the sheath. If you get a chance send a picture of the sheath.
Oh yes, I almost forget. Pumaster steel is considered to be and excellent steel. Puma designed their own blend of steel.
